UAMS Taps Betul Gundogdu for Neurosciences (Movers & Shakers)

Betul Gundogdu has joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock as a neurologist specializing in neuromuscular disorders.

Gundogdu graduated from Istanbul University Capa School of Medicine and has regularly been presented the Best Doctors in Arkansas award from Best Doctors in America Inc. since 2011.


Jeff Mayfield of Bryant has been appointed to the commission on Continuing Professional Development of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Mayfield is a family physician at Baptist Health Family Clinic-Bryant and has been a member of the AAFP’s Arkansas chapter for more than 20 years.


Christopher Trudeau of Little Rock has been selected for a three-year term on the Roundtable on Health Literacy with the National Academies of Science, Engineering & Medicine.

Trudeau graduated from Western Michigan University and was a professor there for 13 years before joining the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.


Matei Andreoiu has joined Sparks Clinic in Fort Smith as a urologist. Andreoiu has practiced medicine in Fort Smith since 2013, having earned his degree from the University of Western Ontario School of Medicine and received training at Indiana University and Florida’s Cleveland Clinic.
